Gico Music recording artist John & Gina Carey has been performing as solo artist for many years. Now married, this power couple has combined their talents into one electrifying Soul/Jazz performance called the “THE URBAN SOUL PROJECT”. Throughout their musical careers, both John & Gina have written & produced several soul/jazz/gospel & blues CD’s. “Urban Soul Guitarist John Carey’s, most recent CD “Smooth Soulful & Funky & Soul Singer Gina Carey’s latest CD “Love Letters” have already entered the Top 30 UK Soul Charts for the second year in a row. Their last CD’s “New Beginnings” & Melodic” both produced by John Carey also entered the UK soul Charts and received much attention when this husband & wife team both entered the top spots within the same week. Gina’s CD “Melodic” took the #1 spot & John’s “New Beginnings” CD landed at #8. They were also named along with artist, Jill Scott, Kindred Soul, Eric Benet, Julie Dexter, Maysa, Brian McKnight & Nick Colione, with top Jazz & Soul Albums in 2011 by “ Soul Brother Records” The largest UK record store still standing.

 GINA Carey is a singer, songwriter, composer & producer. Unique & soulful is the best way to describe Gina’s vocal stylings. Although many have compared her to Broadway's sensation and recording artist Stephanie Mills, Gina has her own sound and style.

  Gina began her professional recording career in 1996 with her first release "In His Time" selling over 10,000 copies nationwide. Throughout Gina's musical career, she has written and recorded 3 independently released gospel CD's (In His Time, Changes & Tell Um) and 4 soulful albums, "My Journey" ,Melodic" & " Love Letters" & her latest " Love Letters 2" .  In 2006, Gina was nominated by the Black Music Academy Association of America in two categories: "Best Gospel Performer - Female" and "Gospel Rising Star, and won the "Las Vegas Black Music Awards for Best Gospel Performer - Female" award. In 2007, She also performed at the first EURWEB awards with Lee Bailey , In 2008 her music video “True Love” was aired on BET & was invited to perform on the Hit TV show *Showtime at the Apollo*


In April 2012, Gina was awarded the “Jazz Artist Music Award” in the “Rising Stars of the Desert” Music video competition”. This prestigious award was presented by Marker Broadcasting, and KJAZZ 102.3 FM, for her song “For Love” (Love Letters CD) at the “Fantasy Springs Resort Casino, in Indio California. The celebrity guest Judge Panel included, Tom Baldrica, former VP Sony Music Nashville & president of Average Joe’s Entertainment, Bonnie Marquez, of Average Joe’s Entertainment, Bonnie Marquez, of GOLDENVOICE marketing in Los Angeles. 


 Gina has performed all over the United States and has shared the stage with many well known and established celebrities including 70 funk band Rose Royce and gospel recording artist J Moss.



JOHN CAREY, guitarist, singer, songwriter, composer and producer, is known for his ability to captivate audiences nationwide with his unique guitar tricks and his sultry, soulful, jazzy, sound. Many fans have compared him to the likes of guitar superstars, Norman Brown, Chuck Loeb, Larry Carlton, and George Benson. John has recorded 4 independently released CD’s. As the owner of two multi track recording studios john honed his craft recording a host of upcoming independent singers and rappers. John also put his unique guitar sound on the rapper Young MC major hit, BUST A MOVE. John has also performed in Japan and the Bahamas. Here in the states John has opened for many musical phenomenons such as Natalie Cole, George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire, Ledisi, Warren Hill, Queen Latifah, Brian Culbertson, Boney James, Mindi Abair, Norman Brown, Al Jarreau, Buddy Guy, Gerald Albright and others.


The Carey’s are currently performing in southern California, and recording the long awaited double disc CD “Live, Love & Laugh” This new CD will be released on their family record label Gico Music in September 2012.
